Introduction to Pack Rafting
Course includes:
Four-day course: Introduction to pack-rafting and a review of equipment. Instruction covers basic paddle strokes on lakes and rivers, river reading, ferrying and basic river rescue techniques, river travel, stroke improvement, running rapids and safety. The course provides you with the necessary skills to maneuver through Class II/III rapids. The course is suitable for complete beginners. No prior experience necessary.
2024 Dates
- 1st Course: May 15-16 evenings in Whitehorse and May 18-19 full days
- 2nd Course: May 29-30 evenings in Whitehorse and June 1-2 full days
- 3rd Course: June 12-13 evenings in Whitehorse and July 15-16 full days
- 4th Course: July 17-18 evenings in Whitehorse and July 20-21 full days
Advanced Pack rafting
Course includes:
This Course is designed to refine and extent the judgement and technique of intermediate paddlers on class III and IV whitewater. It will focus on advanced techniques including boat control, body mechanics, paddle stokes, river reading, rescue and rolling
2024 Dates
- 1st Course: June 26-27 evenings in Whitehorse and June 29-30 full days
Schedule
Wednesday Evening: 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. – City Intake
Thursday Evening: 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. – City Intake
Saturday & Sunday: All Day – River to be determined, will include a hiking component if applicable.
