The Snake River is a true Yukon classic river nestled amongst the alpine valleys of the Peel watershed. Starting in the alpine of Duo Lakes this river winds its way through open mountain scenery, intimate canyons, and braided channels before entering the Peel River. The Snake offers unlimited possibilities for hiking in its upper sections with opportunities to see wildlife such as moose, sheep, bear, and more. Those looking for a trip with fun intermediate paddling, excellent hiking, and remote northern wilderness will find the Snake River a perfect match.
The Snake is a fly in trip departing from Mayo, Yukon. The trip includes 300km of paddling on the Snake before entering the Peel River. From here we shuttle the group back to Whitehorse
Day 1
We meet in Whitehorse and drive to the quaint town of Mayo, Yukon. From here we board the float plane and catch our scenic flight into the headwaters of the Snake River.
Day 2-11
Let time unwind as you paddle through the breathtaking landscape of the Peel watershed. Our days include class 1-3 paddling. You will experience the intimate creeks of the headwaters, open braided valleys, and canyons as we make our way down river. The Snake River boasts plenty of hiking opportunities along the way for those keen to discover epic views.
Day 12
We end our trip on the Peel River and catch our second scenic flight back to Mayo. We then shuttle folks back to Whitehorse.
